Harmony Color Theory on Digital Photography.

Technically, chromatic harmony is the result of a balance between dominant color (which has the greatest extension in the composition), the accent color (vibrant color that gives the whole tone) and the color intermediate (middle ground between the dominant and tonic).

All colors can be combined, which does not mean that the result will be harmonious. For this to occur, you should get the result that provides greater viewing comfort, arranging the colors as a musician does with music notes. Hence then, the similarity between the terminology of music theory and chromatic.

The study of harmony should not be construed as limiting, but as an ally that provides the knowledge needed to obtain better results and even unusual. Below are listed some possible types of chromatic harmonies:

Uses only one hue and its variation of brightness

Harmony Color or Supplemental Contrast.

Also known as a pair, is formed by a dyad of complementary. Graphically, it is represented by the colors located on the diameter of the color wheel.

Harmony Color Triad

It is the triad obtained by an equilateral triangle inserted in the color circle. Among the triads, formed by the primary colors will be stronger. You can also get a triad from an isosceles triangle, shifting colors of the base of the triangle to an adjacent color.

Harmony Color Quadratic

Tetrads formed by defining a square formed by the union of two mutually perpendicular dyads. You can also make a tetrad from a rectangle formed by two dyads at 60 ⁰ each other.

Harmony Color Derivative

Combinations are derived from previously cited as the hexagon formed by two perpendicular triads and tetrads octagon formed by two perpendicular.

Harmony Color Analog.

Obtained from neighboring colors in the color circle.

Harmony Color Saturation.

It is the sum of a single color used on other, creating a composition where all colors are saturated by the same color. In the example below the color circle was saturated with orange, as well as photo, by nature, has the same saturation.
