In this article we will investigate one of the most important aspects of photography - lighting. We will begin with a background as to why the lighting is very important, discusses the three traditional light setup, and then move on to describe a number of different lighting techniques (and the corresponding result)!

Introduction

In photography there are two types of light, the light is harsh or rough, and soft or diffuse light. The harsh light cast deep shadows with sharp edges are well defined, as the case of the high noon sun. The light cast soft shadows with softer edges are less defined, as is the case on overcast days.
